Hi! I'm Amanda, the girl behind The Calligraphy Bar. All you really need to know about me is I run on coffee, red wine and to-do lists, and always have a shadow under my feet (our whippet, Max). I like to think I'm hyper-organized and have it altogether, but raising three little kids and a pup in a relatively small space has created quite the constant mess. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
You can always find me in jeans and a t-shirt (except during quarantine; I rarely wear anything other than leggings), pinning away my plans to always improve my business and home, or reading a book during my few minutes of spare time. I love a good paper book or magazine; I like to physically flip through the pages while sipping coffee on the front porch. I will always have a love for paper goods and stationery since my dad is a printer, and I grew up in a print shop falling in love with the smell of fresh paper and ink.
I left my career as an Account Director, first in Charlottesville, VA then running our Charleston, SC office, at a digital marketing agency; when we moved back to Virginia for my husband to take a job at Quantico, I decided to be a stay-at-home mom. I started this little business a few years later in 2016, and while it has evolved over the years, I love it more with every pivot. While I focused on wedding invitation design for a few years, my goal with this business now is to design products that are both beautiful and functional, bringing appealing efficiency to those managing families and/or businesses, as well as help select and design employee and client gifts for wedding pros and other businesses, so they can keep their focus on their work.
