Whether you know someone who is a calligraphy expert or is just getting interested in the art, there are plenty of gifts you could get them to make their day! They'll be so happy you remembered their love for hand lettering and will be appreciative every time they use these gifts. 1. Calligraphy starter kitLaura Hooper is a leader in the calligraphy industry, so she's a great person to learn from. She offers workshops throughout the year as well as sells calligraphy starter kits and all the supplies you could think of to get started or continue your/her craft. 2. Drying RackWhether your friend pumps out orders and orders of envelopes for brides or just leisurely addresses Christmas card envelopes or party invites, a drying rack is extremely handy. More than likely she's doing them at a small desk or the dining room table, so leaving a ton of envelopes out taking up the whole counter or in danger of tiny hands grabbing them isn't ideal! You can find these racks from several sellers on Etsy and the like, but I love mine from Ashley Bush (AshBushInk). 3. Brush/Tool RollAnother handy thing to have is a brush roll. Whether you make one yourself or find one you love on Etsy or from another seller, you can find something that fits her style and will be incredibly useful. I grabbed this one from Ashley Bush a while back, but there are plenty of beautiful options out there to choose from. 4. Notebooks + PaperQuality and stylish notebooks are essential for an aspiring calligrapher. Rhodia pads are great for practicing, or quality heavy paper like this premium copy paper help hone your craft. Your paper choice can make all the difference! 5. Apple PencilSo a biggie on my wishlist is a new iPad Pro so I can use the Apple Pencil for calligraphy purposes. It would be great for both practice, fun, and quick projects. There are so many girls doing amazing things with it in their Instagram feeds and stories (@theblushingscript, @chalkfulloflove, @ipadlettering, @pandhchalk) and slowly eating away at my will not to buy a new iPad... But if you know someone into lettering/art/calligraphy and they already have an iPad Pro, consider sticking this Pencil in their stocking. I know they'll be overjoyed! So whether or not your friend knows her way around calligraphy nibs or is just interested in learning, any of these tools would be a wonderful surprise under her tree this year.
