Y'all, I'm all about continuing education, and these days it's so easy to find experts in your field putting on free webinars, releasing new blog content, or sharing super inspirational captions with their pretty little Instagram squares. I especially love all of the free "training" out there, but I splurge every year on the Modern Calligraphy Summit. If you are putting any serious thought into legitimizing your calligraphy services or are already an established business and just want to get to the next level, you should consider registering.
They have industry leaders put on GORGEOUS videos about their specialty, whether it be going against the rules, digitizing, printing, watercolor, etc., there's something for everybody. You see these amazing women through their pretty Instagram feeds and wonder what their day and business is really like, and while the new Stories on Instagram gives you a peek into that, these sessions really help you understand that they too were once newbies and walk you through how they became successful and provide so many tips and tricks into each niche that you'll walk away so inspired and ready to work even harder and see where you can take your business.
One of the best perks, in my opinion, is that you have access to these sessions FOR.E.VER (yes, please use The Sandlot voice). I have two very small kids and also freelance with digital marketing so I have a hard time sticking to the schedule as the sessions are launched. I also love being able to head back and re-watch sessions that I need more tips from again or if I just need a good dose of inspiration.
It's an asset I never thought would be available in an industry like this but these girls did it and hopefully will continue from year to year.
Note: As I mentioned earlier I'm super late to the party, so the Summit is over this year. Be sure to follow @moderncalligraphysummit on Instagram or check back at www.moderncalligraphysummit.com for updates on getting access to past summits and preregistering for next year.
Hi! I will be blogging about fun projects, calligraphy and stationery details for weddings and parties, and occasional DIY projects and recipes.
